Bell Ringer: Use the link or QR code below to complete the bell ringer. http://goo.gl/Dwy6HG We are going to use a Evaluating Alternatives Rubric to help decide which of the brainstormed ideas your group should choose. Below is the example to help you fill out the rubric. Open the link to the evaluating alternatives rubric template. Make a copy of the document into your Google Drive and share it with your teammates and myself. With your group work collaboratively to fill it out.

Today we will be continuing our brainstorming activity. Each team will decide on the 4 best ideas from your individual brainstorming session. You will then place those 4 ideas on a large piece of newsprint, which, we will hang in the hall for a gallery walk. Each person will leave one positive remark and one piece of constructive criticism on each poster which is not their own. We will then do a reflection based on the feedback we receive. Exit Ticket: Reflection form. Standards:
Essential Question: How can we come up with new ideas? Bell Ringer: Go to the following link or use a QR scanner to scan the QR code and complete the bell ringer. http://goo.gl/Dwy6HG Activity: Today we move into the step 3 of the engineering design process, brainstorming. Engineers often use brainstorming to come up with solutions to their design problems. Use the chart below to help you with your brainstorming process. Teams will have 25 minutes to brainstorm as many solutions as possible writing their ideas on the paper that they have been given. Remember to use the brainstorming guidelines to aid you. At the end of the brainstorming session we will have a gallery walk during which you will write down what you like on a blue sticky note and suggestions for improvement on a red sticky and place it on the paper at each table.

Essential Question: How do engineers identify the problems that they need to solve? Bell Ringer: Use the link or QR code below to complete the bell ringer. http://goo.gl/WtPS9X As we go through the engineering design process one good way to find information on the product we want to design is through a patent search. This way you will also insure that you do not infringe on someone else’s intellectual property. Below are two good resources for conducting patent searches.
