ACT-FA-2. Students will develop an understanding of the structure and properties of matter; will understand laws of motion, force and universal gravitation as they apply to flight; and will understand conservation of energy and interactions of energy and matter. Essential Question: What can we do with a drone? Activity: Continue working on your Company checklist. Everything on the checklist should be completed today.

Essential Question: Can we make a UAV fly under its on control? Activity: Today you will begin the groundwork for our next project. Your drone will have to carry a ping pong ball in a cup. I will give you all of the variables in class. Put the cup will need to be suspended below the drone and the entire unit will need to be able to fly through a hula hoop. Standard:

Essential Question: Can we make a UAV fly under its on control? Activity: Continue programming your square. Once you have successfully flown the square in one direction reverse and fly in the other. Essential Question: Can we make a UAV fly under its on control? Activity: Now that you have had time to get to know the controls and how to use Tynker. It is time to put it to the test. Today you are to make your drone fly in a 3 meter square and land where it took off from. Use tape on the floor to mark your landing pad and the corners of your square. Standard:

Bell Ringer: Complete the Bell Ringer in Google Classroom. Activity: Today you should have completed all of your work on your handbook and be working on learning about the parrot minis. If we need to we will update the firmware on your drone. Take some time getting to know your drone with the activities in the Parrot Education assignment. Standard:

Bell Ringer: Complete the Bell Ringer in Google Classroom. Activity: Today we begin working with the parrot minidrones. We have 12 quads that we will be able to work with so the groups will be smaller. There are two main apps we will use for this project. The first one is Free Flight Mini. the second one is Tynker. Both should be in Meraki. You can use your iPad or your personal device. Make sure that you give your drone a unique name. So that you know you are connecting to yours. Use the assignment in Parrot Education to get you started. Remember to check off the boxes as you go. Today is about getting familiar with the controls. Spend some time just stick flying. Then try some programing in Tynker to see what you can do with your drone. Standard:

Bell Ringer: Why am I making you take so many test flights? Activity: Today you will start work on a Safety handbook for drone flight. We will go to the following link and sign into your Parrot account. The assignment is posted there. https://activities.parrot.com Today is Raven Rescue Day. First take care of anything that you owe me. Then you may work on either late work from another class or continue with what you are working on in here.
