Standard: Design Standard 8: Students will develop an understanding of the attributes of design. Standard 9: Students will develop an understanding of engineering design. Standard 10: Students will develop an understanding of the role of troubleshooting, research and development, invention and innovation, and experimentation in problem solving. Essential Question: How can we use collaboration to solve problems? Bell Ringer: Go to Google Classroom and complete the bell ringer. Activity: Today we are going to start an engineering design process lesson. Working in teams you will construct bridges with popsicle sticks and hot glue. Your bridge must be able to span an opening of 14", hold at least 20 lbs for a minute, and be aesthetically pleasing. I have placed a full set of instructions in Google Classroom with the associated reflection and research information.
