Today we are continuing to work on craftsmanship. Once you have completed your paper box to my satisfaction you will complete the same procedure using paper board(cereal box). At the end of this you will have a paper box and a cardboard box.
Since I was out for all of last week. Today is going to be Raven Rescue day in Maker. Anything that you are missing for me you may work on. Also, anything that was not completed last week, such as, the children's book or test needs to be completed today.

Children’s Safety Book Your assignment for the next two days is to create a children’s book that teaches young children the safety rules of the list your group made into a video. This is an individual assignment, everyone must turn in their own book. Your book must fit the following criteria.

ENGR-FMMS-4. Students will explain and apply safe work practices while performing tasks. a. Identify safety equipment b. Recognize immediate, potential, and hidden hazards. c. Perform housekeeping tasks related to maintaining a safe work environment. d. Pass a safety test with a perfect score prior to operating equipment. e. Demonstrate the proper safe use of tools and equipment. Essential Question: How do we work safely in the MakerSpace? Bell Ringer: Go to Google Classroom and complete the bell ringer. Activity: Today everyone should be working on filming today. Refer to your storyboard to help you with production. Make sure that you are shooting multiple takes for each scene so you will have choices when you start to edit. Rubric The videos will be due on Thursday the 12th. We will have our written safety test on Friday. Your group will have to turn in a storyboard before you may begin on the final project. You will receive a classwork grade for your storyboard which you is due by the end of class today . The videor will count as a quiz grade and then we will take 2 multiple choice test Friday. The tests will cover basic safety, hand tool safety, power tool safety and slips, trips, and falls. Remember that even though you are only making a posters for one list you are responsible for knowing the information on all of the lists. S8CS2 – Students will use standard safety practices for all classroom laboratory and field investigations. The most important thing you can learn in Maker is how to work safely in a shop environment. There are many tools in the MakerSpace that can harm you. Because of this the first project we will complete is in place to help you learn proper safety procedures. You will be placed into 6 groups. Each group will be assigned one of the 6 safety list we will be learning. Each group will have to learn their list and then produce a video that teaches your classmates the information from your group's list. Groups Basic Safety Hand Tool Safety Power Tool Safety Slips, Trips, and Falls Handling Electrical Equipment Handling Equipment Finished videos will be turned in to Google Classroom. Video Rubric After we watch everyone's videos we will take a test on all of the safety list. You are responsible for every group's list on the test. In order to use a particular type of tool you must pass the test related to that type of tool. Each Group will turn in a Story Board before they begin filming. It maybe either digital or on paper and will be turned in to Google Classroom on Friday. The finished video will be due at the begining of class on Thursday. We will take the safety test on Frid Everyday I will post a blog entry which will cover everything we will be covering in class. If you are absent you are expected to keep up with what we are covering by following the blog. Standard: The first thing that you will see in each blog entry is the standard we will be using to drive your learning. This shows you the skill that you are expected to master. Essential Question: Next will be the essential question we are trying to answer during that class period. Bell Ringer: Each day you come in your first job will be to complete the bell ringer. I will post a question in Google Classroom titled bell ringer. I will give you feedback and a grade each day. At the end of the week you will receive a grade for that week's bell ringers.
