Standard: ENGR-STEM4 – Students will apply principles of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, interpersonal communication, and teamwork to the solution of technological problems. (a) Work cooperatively in multi-disciplinary teams. (b) Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering design. (c) Demonstrate strategies for identifying, formulating, and solving technological problems. (d) Demonstrate techniques, skills, and knowledge necessary to use and maintain technological products and systems. Essential Question: How can we show the concepts that we have learned? Bell Ringer: Go to the following link or use the QR code to complete the Bell Ringer. http://goo.gl/MKerPl Activity:
Today you should be begin construction of your final prototype. Make sure that you have turned in all of the assignments leading up to the final make. Exit Ticket: Leave a question on the parking lot.

Today we move into the step 3 of the engineering design process, brainstorming. Engineers often use brainstorming to come up with solutions to their design problems. Use the chart below to help you with your brainstorming process.
Teams will have 25 minutes to brainstorm as many solutions as possible writing their ideas on the paper that they have been given. Remember to use the brainstorming guidelines to aid you. At the end of the brainstorming session we will have a gallery walk during which you will write down what you like on a blue sticky note and suggestions for improvement on a red sticky and place it on the paper at each table.

Today we will start the research portion of our project. Just like before you will complete 3 of forms( Patent Search, Standards and Codes Search, and Reverse Engineering) This time just like with Defining the Problem you will fill out the information in a Google Doc. The Links are below. Patent Search Form Reverse Engineering Form If you have not finished the defining the problem form, please do that first before starting the research forms. Exit Ticket: Leave a question on the parking lot. |
