ACT-FA-2. Students will develop an understanding of the structure and properties of matter; will understand laws of motion, force and universal gravitation as they apply to flight; and will understand conservation of energy and interactions of energy and matter. Bell Ringer: Why am I making you take so many test flights? Activity: Continue with your test flights. Make sure that you are collecting all of the data. Interactive Instructions Remember our classroom procedures on the board for use when you run into a question you do not have the answer to. Exit Ticket: Leave a question on the parking lot.

Bell Ringer: Why am I making you take so many test flights? Activity: Today I want you to continue flying your quadcopter. While you are flying you are to collect detailed data to help with redesign. Each data entry must collect the following information:

Bell Ringer: What do you think will be the hardest part of flying drone? Activity: Continue working on your Flybrix I have already updated the Firmware on your flight controllers. Someone in the group will need the Flybrix app on a phone. When you have your iPads it will be pre-loaded. Bell Ringer: Do you think you could fly a drone with an odd number of motors? Why or why not. Activity: Today we begin looking at the construction of drones to better understand how they fly. We will be working in 7 groups to build Flybrix drones. No group may be larger than 4 persons. follow the directions in the handout. for now just worry about the body of the drone not the programing. ISTE 2: Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others. We will be keeping a digital record of your progress through Maker Class. We will accomplish this by creating a web page with the Adobe Spark Page app. Adobe Spark Page You will use Adobe Spark Video to load your videos to add to your blog. Adobe Spark Video You will be required to complete a blog each week by Friday. The blog should address the following questions 1. What did you accomplish this week? 2. What are you working on right now? 3. What failures you encounter this week/ How were they resolved/What did you learn from them? 4. What will you be working on next? You will also have to include a picture and a video once a week. Standard:
Essential Question: How do you make yourself identifiable? Bell Ringer: Get back to work on your logo Activity: Today we will be branding ourselves. Everyone will receive a sheet with a gear on it. You are to great a logo that will represent you and your brand. Your logo must fit within the outside lines of the gear. You must also use one color only. We will discuss some of the principles of logo design. Turn in your prototypes and final logos in Google Classroom. Everyday I will post a blog entry which will cover everything we will be covering in class. If you are absent you are expected to keep up with what we are covering by following the blog. Standard: The first thing that you will see in each blog entry is the standard we will be using to drive your learning. This shows you the skill that you are expected to master. Essential Question: Next will be the essential question we are trying to answer during that class period. Bell Ringer: Each day you come in your first job will be to complete the bell ringer. I will post a question in Google Classroom titled bell ringer. I will give you feedback and a grade each day. At the end of the week you will receive a grade for that week's bell ringers. Google Classroom join code: 2nd period- 9uaqss Activity: Next you will find an explanation of the activity we will be working on in class for today. Exit Ticket: The last thing in each blog entry will be an exit ticket for you to complete as you are leaving class. New Roads11/13/2017
